About Mrs. Palys

I am a product of the Arab City School System.  After graduating from Arab High School, I attended Wallace State Community College before transferring to Auburn University.  After graduating from Auburn in June 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education, I began teaching first grade at Arab Primary School.  In 2003 I earned my master’s degree in Elementary Education from The University of Alabama.  I worked for The State of Alabama as an Alabama Reading Academy Teacher during the summers of 2005 and 2006.  I taught Kindergarten summer school at Arab Primary School during the summers of 2007 and 2008, and this past summer I taught second grade summer school.  I have also been an after school tutor at Arab Primary School for the last several years.

I am excited to announce that I am now a National Board Certified Teacher!  I received my scores on November 20, 2009 and was thrilled that I passed.  This is one of the highest honors in the teaching profession.

I am married to Andy Palys who works for Cullman City Schools as a computer technician.  We have been married for seven years.  Andy and I attend Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Cullman Alabama where  I teach Sunday School, sing in the choir, and serve as the director of the children's ministry for children grades 1-6.  Andy and I enjoy spending time with family and friends.   We are also huge Auburn fans!  WAR EAGLE!  I collect ladybugs and purses and love to travel and work in my yard.  My favorite place is the beach!
